Dedication

On Sunday May 27, 2012 Austin and I dedicated Hadley Rae to the Lord. This was very exciting for us. This was something I couldn't wait to do the whole time I was pregnant, because Hadley was a precious gift from God. On this day we put all our trust in God to help bring up Hadley in a Christian way. Also, Hadley was able to wear the same dress my sisters and I wore when we were baptized.
This weekend was a big weekend for us. On Saturday we had a party from my mom and dad. They are moving to St. Louis in a week. And we got to spend all day with them. I don't get to spend all day with my mom very often so it was so nice to get to spend all day with her. I know she enjoyed it, because she got to feed Hadley and spend time with her. I know Hadley will miss her Mimi and Papa! Cade and Cale were there of course!!! And Cale couldn't get enough of her. He helped my mom feed Hadley. He is actually a good little babysitter. He takes good care of his sister cousin. Cale is having a hard time understanding his relationship to Hadley. At first he was saying he was going to marry Hadley, and we had to explain to him that he was her cousin. Then it went to she was his sister. We had to explain to him again that she was his cousin. Now she is his sister cousin. It’s so cute!!! I know Cade and Cale will never let anything happen to Hadley. When she gets older those boys better watch out for the two Johnson boys!!!!
Hadley and I had a visitor this week. Jocelynn, a girl from church, came over and spent all day with us. She got to feed Hadley, and loved every minute of it. She is such a sweet girl. At church she always asks to pray for Hadley. When she came over we made cake balls, and Jocelynn loved helping me cook. I am sure she will spend more days with us this summer, and we look forward to it.

1 month

Today Hadley is 1 month old. She is growing up so fast and getting so big. She is eating 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. She eats like a little pig. And sleeping very well at night. Last night I only got up once with her at 1:45 a.m. So, a funny story, I was painting the church and asked Austin to watch her while I painted. Well he had to go look at a trailer and he took Hadley. Hadley screamed all the way there, the whole time they were there, and all the way home. When I got home Austin was so happy to see me. Hadley didn't want to go trailer shopping I guess, because every time I take her to the mall she is good! She wanted her daddy to take her shopping for new boots or something!

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Hadley has had a lot of visitors here lately. Grandparents, uncles, aunts, friends and cousins. But I think her favorite has been her cousins. They all cannot get enough of her. When Cade met her for the first time he kept saying, "She is so adorable." Cale just wanted to hold her every 20 minutes. He thinks he is bigger than he is. Every time we went somewhere he wanted to carry her car seat. He couldn't understand why I wouldn't let him. Then Cade, Hadley was fussing a little in the evening, and Cade said you might not like her very much at this age, but it does get better when she gets older, she won't cry as much. I love the advice from a 6 year old. Cade and Cale are already making plans to come stay the night again.

Baby Pictures

Here are some picutres of Hadley Rae right after she was born!!!!

Hadley is Here!!!!!

I had Hadley Rae Shelby at 6:57 a.m. on Thursday April 26, 2012. I went into labor on Wednesday. I started to have contractions at church and didn't know what was going on. Then I came home and they started to get stronger and stronger and closer together. Austin didn't want to go to the hospital because it was in the middle of the night. He kept asking me, "are you sure you can't wait until morning." I was thinking he was crazy because my contractions were painful at this point. So we went to the hospital at 10:30 p.m. After being in triage for 2 hours I finally got into a labor and delivery room at 1 a.m. I was so thankful for Austin and my sister Stephanie, because they were great help through labor. Hadley weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and 20 inches long. We went for her 2 week checkup and she now weighs 8 lbs. and is 21 inches long. She loves to eat. She eats 3 1/2 ounces now!!!! Also Hadley makes very random noises all the time just like her daddy!!!!
